1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out activities and content that are not permitted on the Services. It applies to everyone with access to a RockSolidHost account, including team members and anyone you grant access to.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not use the Services to host, store, transmit, or distribute:
- Child sexual abuse material, in any form. Reports go to NCMEC immediately and the account is terminated.
- Content that is unlawful in the jurisdiction where you or your audience resides — including content that violates copyright, trademark, trade-secret, or right-of-publicity laws.
- Malware, ransomware, exploit kits, or any payload intended to harm or compromise other systems.
- Content that incites violence against people based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
3. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Services to:
- Send unsolicited bulk email or any messages that violate anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR e-Privacy).
- Operate phishing pages, fake login screens, or other content intended to deceive recipients.
- Launch denial-of-service attacks, port scans, or any unauthorized probe of third-party systems.
- Run cryptocurrency mining or distributed-compute workloads on shared, cloud, or VPS plans without explicit written consent.
- Circumvent resource limits, bypass authentication, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or to our infrastructure.
4. Network & Resource Use
Shared and cloud plans are subject to fair-use limits. Sustained traffic patterns that disproportionately impact other customers may be migrated to a more appropriate plan. We'll always reach out before taking action and give you the option to upgrade.
5. Reporting Violations
Suspected AUP violations can be reported to [email protected]. Include the URL or IP, the nature of the violation, and any supporting evidence. We acknowledge reports within one business day.
6. Enforcement
Where we identify a violation, our typical response is, in order: a notice with a chance to cure, suspension of the offending content or service, and termination of the account. For categories that cause immediate harm — CSAM, active malware distribution, ongoing attacks — we suspend first and notify after.
7. Updates
We update this policy as the threat landscape changes. Material updates are announced by email at least 30 days in advance.
