How our managed backup retention works

What 12-hour backups, daily copies, and weekly recovery points mean in practice.

Backups are only useful when the schedule is clear and the restore path is realistic. Every RockSolidHost plan includes a managed backup policy designed for common website and application recovery needs.

The default policy

  • Backups run every 12 hours.
  • We retain 10 recent restore points.
  • We also keep 7 daily copies.
  • We keep 4 weekly copies for a longer recovery window.

If your workload has compliance or long-retention requirements, talk with us before ordering so we can plan the right policy.

What backups do not replace

Backups reduce risk, but they are not a substitute for careful deployments, access control, or application-level exports. Managed hosting works best when the hosting backup policy and application recovery process are aligned.
